Flying to England

T: -1 Day

Today I went on an airplane for the longest flight of my life to date. Not all that exciting. Mostly it was dark outside and I was trying to sleep. Not too successful. I only ended up sleeping for 2 or 3 hours. Even though it was technically 1:oo in the morning my time, it was already well into morning outside the plane, and that definitely started screwing with my internal clock. The lack of sleep will probably catch up to me sometime tomorrow when I'm also suffering from jetlag.

All in all, I'd have to say my favorite part of the flight was when I happened to open the window during the predawn period. The horizon was spread out smooth and unbroken below us, and it was all dusky and misty, but where the sun was approaching, it lit the sky with the most beautiful shade of blue that gradually faded into the rest of the dark sky. I wish I had a picture, but I'm sure it wouldn't do it justice anyway.
